Long Synopsis: Lala smokes marijuana ten minutes before an engagement with her in-laws. Upon seeing her, her boyfriend gets angry and leaves without her. Thus, Lala achieves her goal: enjoying the feeling of freedom that comes with being home alone. Lala uses the bathroom with the door open, bleaches her hair with hydrogen peroxide while tanning by the pool, and sits dripping on the couch watching an 80s soap opera that, more than an internal fantasy about having lunch with her in-laws, is a projection of her stance on various social standards.

In the telenovela-like scene, which is a satire of typical Mexican soap operas, Poncho finally confronts his mother to give Lala her place as the woman he loves and then flees on horseback with her. Lala dreams of this projection, as absurd as it is real, while she eats Carlota—or homemade lemon dessert—by the spoonful straight from the oven. However, her boyfriend suddenly calls to let her know he's at the door because he forgot the Carlota they made to take to the dinner.
